Launched last summer, the Canyon Ranch SpaClub at Virginia’s historic Homestead Resort will cease operations December 1 as a result of rebranding planned by the resort’s new owner.

Hailed for combining traditional hydrotherapy with new wellness programs, the partnership between Canyon Ranch and Omni Hotels & Resorts never developed momentum. Newly constructed facilities adjoining the resort’s original spa will be integrated with plans to be announced by the Texas-based Omni group.

The decision by Omni to terminate their project with Canyon Ranch added no details.

Canyon Ranch pioneered the evolution of the wellness lifestyle and has been an industry leader for over 30 years.

Operating the world’s most celebrated collection of life-enhancement properties, Canyon Ranch has destination health resorts in Tucson, Ariz., and Lenox, Mass., as well as Canyon Ranch Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach, and a Canyon Ranch SpaClub at The Venetian & The Palazzo in Las Vegas, Nev., plus Canyon Ranch SpaClub at Sea onboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 luxury ocean liner, and the seven ships that make up Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Canyon Ranch has been named the “Healthiest Spa in America” by Health magazine as well as the “Best Spa for Food” by Gourmet magazine. Additionally, Canyon Ranch is a 13-time winner of Travel + Leisure’s Best Spa Award and the only 11-time recipient of the Condé Nast Traveler Best Destination Spa Award.

Rumors of new projects in Turkey and China have not been confirmed by spokespersons for Canyon Ranch.
