A personal mobile application and in-room tablets provide guests and meeting attendees instant access to a variety of services at the award-winning resort via partnership with leading technology firm.
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – June 30, 2015 – The Woodlands® Resort & Conference Center, owned by The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC), announces a new partnership with hospitality technology firm Intelity to introduce the company’s ICE (Interactive Customer Experience™) platform at the Resort.
Guests can download the Resort’s customized version of Intelity’s ICE Mobile to their personal smartphones or tablets. Using the app, they can view information and make requests for a variety of services, from mobile check-in to room service.
For guests’ convenience, touchscreen tablets loaded with Intelity’s ICE Bedside solution will also be made available in all 406 guest rooms. The tablets are modern replacements for the traditional clock-radio, with the ability to set wake-up calls and stream music in addition to accessing all hotel information and services.
General Manager and Vice President of Hospitality Greg Parsons said, “The mobile app brings numerous benefits for our guests. We are able to create a premier experience that begins before they even arrive and continues even after they depart, contacting our dedicated staff whenever and however they want.”
Meeting planners and attendees will also benefit from downloading the Resort’s ICE Mobile app. Using the app, they can view information about the Resort’s offerings and make custom requests about anything they might need to execute a successful event. Planners can work with hotel staff to utilize the tablets to send special messages and notifications to members of their specific group. Personalized video messages can also be recorded and uploaded to greet those staying in the group’s room block.
“We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional conference and event experience, which includes a beautiful 13,430-square-foot Grand Ballroom and a selection of modern amenities,” Parsons said. “ICE serves as the perfect collection of digital tools for planners to use to make the most of all of our available resources.”
Intelity CEO and President David Adelson said, “We’re thrilled that The Woodlands Resort trusted our company to help them complete this digital upgrade, and there’s no doubt that they’ll be pleased with the impact ICE has on the guest and conference attendee experiences they currently provide. We look forward to helping them successfully connect with their guests and groups in an entirely new way.”
Beyond the guest-facing applications, the ICE Control System (ICS) enables staff to fully manage the platform from desktop and mobile devices. Among the capabilities included with the ICS are:
- Content management
- Direct messaging, marketing and upsell opportunities
- Business intelligence and application usage data
- Banner ads and push notifications
- Guest request tracking and alerts
“Not only are we confident that guests will love using ICE, our staff is also very excited at what we’ll be able to do with the new technology,” Parsons said. ”We’ll be able to take luxury and service to a new level.”
