Minneapolis, Minnesota, November 20, 2013 - CSM Lodging, a division of CSM Corporation, has named Dan R. Maurer director of sales and marketing for the Marriott Minneapolis West Hotel. Lori Geiwitz, general manager, made the announcement.
“I am very pleased to welcome Dan to our hotel and back to CSM Lodging” said Ms. Geiwitz. “Having been an active part of the company’s professional sales team earlier in his hospitality career, we’re thrilled he has returned to us in this important new leadership role at the Marriott Minneapolis West.”
Dan Maurer was most recently director of sales & marketing for the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest, where he led a team of professionals which surpassed annual budget goals and doubled annual revenues during his tenure. Prior to this, he served in the same position for the Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West.
Mr. Maurer began his hospitality career working in food & beverage as sous chef and was later promoted to executive chef. He previously served as sales manager for CSM Lodging’s flagship property, The Depot Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel.
Dan Maurer is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. He is also a graduate of Dale Carnegie’s Effective Communications and Human Relations program.
Mr. Maurer is an active member of Meeting Professionals International, the Midwest Society of Association Professionals, and the North Central Business Travel Association. He resides in Minneapolis.
