MEXICO CITY (November 7, 2014) - Mr. Bernard de Villèle, general manager of The St. Regis Mexico City, is pleased to announce the appointment of Oscar Álvarez Garcia as director of food and beverage. A veteran in the food and beverage industry, Álvarez brings more than 16 years of hospitality experience to The St. Regis Mexico City, the cosmopolitan hotel setting the highest standard for luxury and bespoke service in Mexico. In his new role, Álvarez will oversee operations for The St. Regis Mexico City’s acclaimed food and beverage program, including the hotel’s signature restaurants and bar - Diana, King Cole Bar, The Decanter Room, private dining and banquets.

Spanish born Álvarez joins The St. Regis Mexico City from his former role as food and beverage manager at Sheraton Buenos Aires and Sheraton Park Tower in Argentina, where he led a team of 280 people and served as an executive committee member. Álvarez not only managed the properties’ financial operations for the dining departments but also implemented a complete redesign in the food and beverage services, creating a more attractive and modern dining experience for new luxury customers. Previously, Álvarez also served as food and beverage manager within notable international hotels, including Sheraton Bilbao Hotel, Hotel Maria Cristina, Las Dunas Beach Hotel & Spa, and Intercontinental London Hotel. As food and beverage director at The St. Regis Mexico City, Álvarez will develop and manage the unique and culturally-inspired culinary programs offered to the hotel’s discerning guests.
