ORLANDO - September 8, 2014 - Intelity, leading provider of integrated guest service technology for the hospitality industry, released data from 25 of the company’s global clients today. The data provides a look at use of Intelity-created mobile apps and found that the top five most used guest services are:

  • Concierge requests
  • Hotel information
  • Housekeeping requests
  • Dining/In-room dining
  • Pre-arrival requests and mobile check-in/check-out

The hotels were located in 25 different cities, including six in North America, one in South America, 12 in Asia, three in Africa, and three in Europe. Nine of the hotels had fewer than 250 guest rooms, 10 had between 251 and 500 guest rooms, and six had more than 500 guest rooms.

Pre-arrival requests and mobile check-in/check-out accounted for approximately 15 percent of total usage, a statistic which points to the growing preference among hotel guests to skip the front desk. Many hotels have recently begun to re-evaluate their front desk policies in favor of automated options for guest check-in, such as automated kiosks and mobile apps with a check-in feature.

Intelity has published a whitepaper about this topic on the company website

David Adelson, Intelity President and CEO, said, “Mobile technology has become a vital channel for the hospitality industry to provide service and connect to guests at every stage of their experience. It’s useful for hotels to monitor metrics related to use of that technology to ensure that they’re maximizing the resource. There’s huge potential with mobility for hotels to leverage a number of benefits, from increased staff efficiency to expanded revenue streams.”

Intelity introduced its ICE (Interactive Customer Experience™) guest service platform as the first of its kind, designed exclusively for the hospitality industry, and it has since become the most widely used platform of this type on the planet, with installations on six continents. The company was also the first to create and release a multi-property mobile app for a global hotel brand.
