Waterford Hotel Group Names James King as Executive Chef at the 393-room Hilton Hartford Hotel in CT

HARTFORD, CT (June 19, 2014) - The Hilton Hartford recently announced the appointment of James King as Executive Chef of the hotel. In his new role, Chef King will be responsible for the menu creation and daily culinary operations of the Hilton Hartford and m&m bistro. Waterford Hotel Group, Inc. professionally manages the 393-room Hilton Hartford, a state-of-the-art, luxury hotel with all the benefits and convenience of a downtown location.

Chef King brings more than 16 years of culinary experience to the Hilton team, including his most recent role at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley Airport where he served as Executive Chef for eight years. During his time at the Sheraton, Chef King was honored with numerous awards and accolades, including “Manager of the Year” from Waterford Hotel Group and “Chef of the Year” by the Connecticut Lodging Association. Previously, he had served as Chef de Cuisine and Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook, CT and as Sous Chef for Houlihan’s Public House in West Hartford, CT. Chef King began his culinary career in 1998 as Lead Cook at the Kingsway Hall Hotel in London.

 

“We are thrilled to welcome Chef King to lead the culinary direction of the Hilton Hartford,” commented Anish Patney, General Manager for the hotel. “His extensive experience in the industry will bring a creative and unique approach to both the hotel’s food and beverage operations and the m&m bistro menu,” added Patney.

 

Chef King holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business Management from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. He also has a Superior Culinary Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu London and completed the culinary certificate program at the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine in Edinburgh, U.K.
